EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 546] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2023/ ASVINA 4, 194 5 CG-DL-E-27092023-249021 [सं. 38-06/2023-डीडी-III] MINISTRY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT [Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) ] NOTIFICATI ON New Delhi, the 21st September , 2023 G.S.R . 688(E).—The following draft of certain rules to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sub -sections (1) and (2) of section 100 of the Right s of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of the said section, for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby; and notice is hereby given that the said draft rules shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette in which this notification is published are made available to the public; Object ions and suggestions, if any, may be addressed to Shri Ram Charan Meena, Under Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Room No 11 A, 5th Floor, Pandit DeenDayalAntyodaya Bhawan, CGO Complex , Lodhi Road, New Delhi, 110003 or by email at [email protected] The objections and suggestions, which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft rules before the expiry of the period specified above, will be considered by the Central Government. DRAFT RULES 1. Short title and extent. - (1) These rules may be called the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, in rule (15), in sub -rule (1), after clause (h), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: — “(i) Guidelines on accessible and inclusive piped water supply for persons with disabilities & for o ther population groups as specified in the notification of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India, vide number CDN -11017/58/2021 -Coordination -DDWS, dated the 2nd August 2023” (ii) Accessible Standards f or Community Toilet in Rural Areas as specified in the notification of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India, vide number No. S-18012/5/2021 -SBM -DDWS, dated the 4th August 2023.
