Union of India & Others). The Supreme Court's order had granted additional time to the Advisory Committee, chaired by Hon'ble Ms. Justice Asha Menon (former Judge of the Delhi High Court), to conduct a study and recommend a viable equal opportunity policy and other measures for transgender persons. All other terms and conditions stipulated in the Department's Notifications of even number dated December 23, 2025, and March 27, 2026, remain unchanged.

Union of India & Others), extended the time period granted to the Advisory Committee, chaired by Hon'ble Ms. Justice Asha Menon, former Judge of the Delhi High Court, by a further period of six months for conducting an incisive study and recommending a viable equal opportunity policy and other measures for transgender persons. 2. Accordingly, in pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court, the Central Government hereby extends the tenure of the Advisory Committee for a further period of six months, i.e., up to 16.10.2026. 3.
