L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-19062024-254810 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 311] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19, 2024/JYAISHTHA 29, 1946 MINISTRY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT (Department of Empowerment of Persons With Disabilities Divyangjan) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 22nd March, 2024 G.S.R. 334(E).—WHEREAS a draft of certain rules to amend sub-rule (1) of rule 15 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017 was published, as required by sub-section (1) of section 100 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), vide notification of the Government of India the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities number G.S.R. 70 (E), dated the 25th January 2024 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, section 3, sub-section (i) inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette in which this notification is published are made available to the public; AND WHEREAS, copies of the said notification was made available to the public on the 30th January 2024; AND WHEREAS, the objections and suggestions received in respect of the said notification have been considered by the Central Government; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 100 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, namely:- 1. Short title and commencement- (1) These rules may be called the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, in rule 15, in sub-rule (1), after clause (l), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:- "(m) Accessibility Standards and Guidelines for MHA Specific Built Infrastructures & Associated Services for Police Stations, Prisons & Disaster Mitigation Centres, as specified in the notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide notification number F.
