By S.O. 721(E) dated 16th February 2024, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Food and Public Distribution), acting under sub-section (2) of section 5 of the Food Corporations Act, 1964 (37 of 1964) and in supersession of its earlier notification S.O. 77(E) dated 3rd January 2020 (published in the Gazette of India dated 6th January 2020), increased the authorised capital of the Food Corporation of India from ten thousand crore rupees to twenty-one thousand crore rupees; the notification bears File No. 11019/1/2017-FC-II&III(Pt) and is signed by Richa Sharma, Additional Secretary.

In pursuance of the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 5 of the Food Corporations Act, 1964 (37 of 1964), and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution number S.O. 77(E), dated the 3rd January, 2020 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section 3, sub-section (ii), dated the 6th January, 2020, the Central Government hereby increases the authorised capital of the Food Corporation of India from ten thousand crore rupees to twenty-one thousand crore rupees.
