No. 16017/6/2022 Ins.I dated 20th August 2024; objections and suggestions may be submitted within thirty days of publication to Shri Ram Charan Meena, Under Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), New Delhi; the notification is signed by Rajeev Sharma, Joint Secretary, under F. G.S.R. 632(E).— The following draft of certain rules to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 100 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of the said section, for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby; and notice is hereby given that the said draft rules shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette in which this notification is published are made available to the public; Objections and suggestions, if any, may be addressed to Shri Ram Charan Meena Under Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Room No 11 A, 5th Floor, Pandit Deen Dayal Antyodaya Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, 110003 or by email at [email protected] The objections and suggestions, which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft rules before the expiry of the period specified above, will be considered by the Central Government. DRAFT RULES 1. Short title and extent.- (1) These rules may be called the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, in rule (15), in sub-rule (1), after clause (p), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:- "(q) Accessibility Standards and Guidelines for infrastructure and services in Insurance Sector as specified in the notification of the Department of Financial Service, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, vide notification number F.
