L. -33004/99 EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 163] NEW DELHI , TUESDAY , MARCH 12, 2024 /PHALGUNA 22, 1945 CG-DL-E-14032024-252947 [सं. 38-05/2020 -डीडी-III] MINISTRY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT [Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) ] NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 8th March, 2024 G.S.R . 175 (E).—Whereas a draft of certain rules to amend sub -rule (1) of rule 15 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Ru les, 2017 were published, as required by sub -section (1) of section 100 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), vide notification of, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons wit h Disabilities, number G.S.R. 912 (E), dated the 18th December 2023 published in the Official Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part -II, section 3, sub -section (i) inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before th e expiry of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette in which this notification is published are made available to the public; And whereas, copies of the said notification were made available to the public on the 29th December 2023; And whereas, the objections and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said notification have been considered by the Central Government; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub -sections (1) and (2) of section 100 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, namely: - 1. Short title and Commencement. - (1) These rules may be called the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, in rule 15, in sub -rule (1), aft er clause (k), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: - “(ℓ) Guidelines on accessibility of Indian Railway stations and facilities at stations for differently abled persons (Divyangjan) and passengers with reduced mobility as specified, in the noti fication of the Ministry of Railways, Government of India vide notification number F.No.2019/Stn.Dev. -I/03/06/Policy/PwDs, dated 13th November, 2023.” [No. 38 -05/2020 -DD-III] RAJEEV SHARMA, Jt.
