Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs), through Notification F. No. J-9/11/2019-CPU dated 6th November, 2025, announced that the Central Government, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 10 and sub-section (2) of section 15 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (35 of 2019), and in view of DoP&T's Order No. 36/01/2025-EO(SM-I) dated 22/08/2025, has assigned the additional charge of Director General (Investigation) in the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) to Shri Sanjay Garg. Shri Garg, who is currently the Director General of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Government of India, replaces Shri Pramod Kumar Tiwari in this additional role. This assignment is a partial modification of the Department's notification of even number dated 02.05.2024 and is intended for the smooth functioning of the CCPA.
