G.S.R . 598 (E).—Whereas a draft of certain rules to amend sub -rule (1) of rule 15 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017 were published, as required by sub -section (1) of section 100 of the Rights of Person s with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), vide notification of the Government of India the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities number G.S.R. 407(E), dated the 1st June, 2023 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part -II, section 3, sub -section (i) inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette in w hich this notification is published are made available to the public; And whereas copies of the said notification were made available to the public on the 2nd June, 2023; And whereas the objections and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said notification have been considered by the Central Government; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub -sections (1) and (2) of section 100 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the Central Government here by makes the following rules further to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, namely: - (1) These rules may be called the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their p ublication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, in rule 15, in sub -rule (1), after clause (f), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: - “(g) Accessibility Standards for HealthCare, notified by the Gove rnment of India in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, vide notification number F.No. T.21017/20/2021 -NCD.I (NPPCD)/Part., dated the4th May, 2023.” [No. 38 -17/2022 -DD-III] RAJEEV SHARMA , Jt.
