III TENURE 1. The tenure of the Committee will be ordinarily for 3 years from the date of its constitution. 2. If a person is nominated as Member in the middle of the term, he/she will hold the office for the residual term of the Committee. 3. In special circumstances, the tenure of the Committee may be curtailed or enhanced by the Ministry. 4. Member of Parliament who are the members of the Committee shall cease to be members as soon as they cease to be the Member of Parliament. 5. Ex-officio members of the Committee shall continue as members as long as they hold office by virtue of which they are members of the Committee. IV GENERAL The Headquarters of the Committeeshall be at New Delhi. V TRAVELLING AND OTHER ALLOWANCES (a) The Members of the Parliament nominated in the Committee, will be paid Travelling Allowance/Daily Allowance as per the provisions in the "Members of Parliament (Salary, Allowance & Pension) Act, 1954" and amendments issued from time to time and rules made thereunder vide Department of Official Language Office Memorandum No. II/20034/04/2005-O.L.(Policy-2), dated 03 February, 2006 for participating in meetings of the Committee. (b) Travelling Allowance/Daily Allowance to other non-official members of the Committee, will be paid as per the guidelines contained in the Department of Official Language O.M. No.II/22034/04/86-O.L. (A-2) dated 22.1.1987 keeping in view the high-level status of the Committee and in accordance with the prescribed rates and rules as amended from time to time by the Government of India.
