The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs) issued Notification G.S.R. 436(E) on 1st July, 2025, in exercise of powers conferred by clause (zb) of sub-section (2) of section 101 read with sub-section (3) of section 57 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (35 of 2019). These rules, called the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Group 'A' posts) Recruitment (Second Amendment) Rules, 2025, come into force upon their publication in the Official Gazette. The amendment specifically modifies the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Group 'A' posts) Recruitment Rules, 2023, by substituting the entries for the Departmental Promotion Committee against serial number 5, concerning the post of Principal Private Secretary, in column (12) of the Schedule. The new Departmental Promotion Committee for considering promotion will consist of: 1. Member, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Chairperson); 2. Registrar or Joint Registrar, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Member); and 3. Director or Deputy Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs (Member). The principal rules were published vide G.S.R. 120 (E) on 22nd February, 2023, and previously amended by G.S.R. 588 (E) on 24th September, 2024, G.S.R. 746 (E) on 3rd December, 2024, and G.S.R. 378 (E) on 10th June, 2025.

Short title and commencement - (1) These rules may be called the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Group 'A' posts) Recruitment (Second Amendment) Rules, 2025. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Group 'A' posts) Recruitment Rules, 2023, in the Schedule, against serial number 5, relating to the post of Principal Private Secretary, in column (12), for the entries relating to the Departmental Promotion Committee, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:- "Departmental Promotion Committee (for considering promotion) consisting of:- 1. Member, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission – Chairperson; 2. Registrar or Joint Registrar, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission – Member; 3.
