Detailed Summary

The Central Government, through Notification S.O. 2943(E) dated 30th June, 2025, issued by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs), has exercised powers conferred by Section 3 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016) read with Rule 3 and Sub-rule 1 of Rule 4 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. This notification appoints Dr. Bhola Singh, Member of Lok Sabha, and Dr. Laxmikant Bajpayee, Member of Rajya Sabha, as members of the Governing Council of the Bureau of Indian Standards. These appointments are made against respective vacancies for a period of two years or until the individual ceases to be a member of Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha, or until further orders, whichever is earliest, effective from the date of publication of this notification.
