Delhi, the 24th December, 2025
Ref. No.BCD/Elect-2026 /1.— It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that the election of
Bar Council of Delhi will be held on 20th February, 2026, 21st February, 2026 and 22nd February, 2026, in
accordance with the provisions contained in the Advocates Act 1961 and the Rules framed there-under.
This election schedule has been prepared as per order dated 18th November, 2025 of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India
in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 1319/2023 titled as "M. Varadhan Versus Union of India and Ors."

Publication of Provisional Electoral Roll : 10th January, 2026
Publication of Final Electoral Roll : 17th January, 2026

Nomination papers in compliance with Rule 8 reproduced below shall reach the office of Bar Council of Delhi at 2/6,
Siri Fort Institutional Area, Khel Gaon Marg, New Delhi-110049, between 17th January, 2026 to 24th January,
2026, (On working days up to 4:00PM.)
Rule 8
Candidates how to be proposed.
Every candidate for election as a member of the Bar Council shall be proposed by one voter, and seconded by another
voter. The nomination paper shall be delivered to the Secretary, either personally or through an agent or send by
registered post so as to reach the Secretary, Bar Council of Delhi, 2/6, Siri Fort Institutional Area, Khel Gaon Marg,
New Delhi-110049, on or before the date specified in the notification under Rule 6.
NOTE:
i) Nomination paper shall be available for Sale for a sum of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only).
Maximum 4 (four) nomination papers will be issued per candidate.
ii) Every nomination paper shall be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1,25,000/- (Rupees One Lac
Twenty-Five Thousand Only).
iii) The nomination fee shall be accepted only through Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque (Not ordinary cheque)
drawn in favour of “BAR COUNCIL OF DELHI ELECTION ACCOUNT", payable at Delhi.

I further undertake that I am not doing any work of Handwriting Expert or appearing as a witness in support of any
litigant.
Further, I confirm that I am qualified to be a member of the Delhi Bar Council and also to be a voter in the Bar
Council of Delhi Elections to be held in February 2026.
I also confirm that I suffer from no disqualification for being a member of Bar Council of Delhi and also being a voter
for Bar Council of Delhi Elections to be held in February, 2026, as provided for in Chapter-I of Bar Council of India
Rules (for Qualification / Disqualification and produce for election and code of conduct for elections of S.B.C /
B.C.I.) 2023 issued vide Bar Council of India Notification No. F. No. BCI:D:3429/2023 dated 23.06.2023.
Further, any concealment shall attract appropriate disciplinary and criminal action, besides the cancellation of
candidature of advocate being proposed by me hereunder and removal of my name from the rolls of Bar Council of
Delhi.
