Per the appended Schedule, the post has 942 sanctioned positions (as of 2021, subject to variation dependent on workload), is classified as General Central Service, Non-Ministerial, Non-Gazetted, Group B, at Pay Level 8 (Rs. 47,600-151,100) in the pay matrix, and is a Selection Post with an age limit for direct recruits of not exceeding 30 years (relaxable up to 5 years for government servants). Required qualifications for direct recruits are a Master's degree with at least 50% marks (or equivalent grade) in Home Science, or in specified allied fields such as Food Nutrition/Dietetics, Human Development/Child Development, Textiles and Clothing, Resource Management/Interior Design, or Communication and Extension/Statistics, together with a Bachelor of Education or equivalent. The probation period is two years for direct recruits. Recruitment is 50% by promotion and 50% by direct recruitment, with promotion from the post of Domestic Science Teacher at Pay Level 7 (Rs. 44,900-142,400) with two years of service. NDE.2(8) ( 74)/E-II/2004/ 1198 .—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affair’s Notification No. F.27/59 -Him (I) dated 13th July, 1959 and in supersession of recruitment rules for the post of Post Graduate Teacher (Home Science/Domestic Science) notified vide notification no. F.2 (41)/72 -S. II dated the 28th June, 1973 except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi after prior consultation with the Union Public Service Commission, is pleased to make rules regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Post Graduate Teacher (Home Science/Domestic Science) i n the Directorate of Education, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, namely: - 1. Short title and commencement. -(i) These rules may be called Post Graduate Teacher (Home Science/Domestic Science) Recruitment Rules, 2024. (ii) They shall come int o force on the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette. 2. Number of posts, classification and scale of pay/level of pay in the pay matrix. - The number of the said post, their classification and scale of pay/level in the pay matrix attached thereto s hall be as specified in columns 2 to 4 of the Schedule annexed to these rules. 3. Method of recruitment, age -limit, qualification etc. - The method of recruitment to the said post, age limit, qualification and other matter connected therewith, shall be as spe cified in columns 5 to 13 of the said Schedule. 4. Disqualifications - No person, (a) Who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or (b) Who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said post: Provided that the Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule. 5. Power to relax. - Where the Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may, by order, for reasons to be recorded in writing, and in consultation with Union Public Service Commission, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons. 6. Saving. -Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age -limit and other concessions required to be provided for the Sc heduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, and other special categories of persons in accordance with the order issued by the Government from time to time in this regard. Educational and other Qualification required for direct recruits. : Essential Qualification: 1) Master s Degree with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent grade from a recognized University/Institute in Home Science; OR Food Nutrition/Applied Nutrition/Dietetics and Food service Management/Dietetics public Health; OR Human Development/Child Development/ Child with Special Needs; OR Fabric Apparel Science/Textiles and Clothing; OR Resource Management/Interior D esign; OR Communication and Extension/Rural Youth Program/Progress Planning Statistics from a recognized University/Institute; (2) Bachelors in Education (B.Ed.) or B.A.B.Ed. or B.Sc.B.Ed. or three -year integrated B.Ed. -M.Ed. from a recognized University/I nstitute. Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the DSSSB/Competent Authority, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. 8. Whether age & educational qualification prescribed for Direct Recruitment will apply in the case of promotees : Age - No Educational Qualification - Yes 9. Period of Probation, if any. : 2 years Remark: For direct recruits only. 10.
