No. 259 PART IV GOVERNMENT OF THE NATIONAL CAPITAL TERRITORY OF DELHI DIRECTORATE OF EDUCATION NOTIFICATION Delhi, the 26th September, 2025 No. F. PS/DE/2025/104.— Whereas, Government Schools situated in Delhi are functioning under the aegis of the Directorate of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi. And whereas, attention is invited to the provisions of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, particularly clause 2(p) which defines "Specified Category" schools, including those with a distinct character as notified by the appropriate Government. And whereas, in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) – 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) – 2023, the Government of NCT of Delhi has decided to establish 75 CM SHRI Schools as specialized institutions providing advanced, skill-based and competency driven education. These Schools shall aim to: i. Provide futuristic education through AI-powered personalized learning hubs, ii. Integrate digital learning, experiential pedagogy and multidisciplinary curriculum, iii. Prepare students for global standards with a flexible and low-anxiety assessment system. These schools shall be of two types: starting from class nursery or from class VI, with admission based on an aptitude test (in class VI and onwards) designed to identify talented students. And whereas, the proposal for establishment of these schools has been duly vetted by the Law Department, Planning Department and Finance Department of GNCTD and approved by the Council of Ministers, GNCTD in Cabinet Meeting No. 6, Vide Cabinet Decision No. 3198 dated 10.05.2025, conveyed to Hon'ble LG Delhi via file No. F.53/724/GAD/CN/2025/1150-1159 dated 13.05.2025. Now therefore, in pursuance of provisions of sub- section (p) of Section – 2 of the 'Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009', the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby notify the establishment of 75 CM SHRI Schools as “specified category" schools under the Directorate of Education. These CM SHRI Schools shall possess a distinct character in terms of mission, objective and education model.
