The Schedule specifies 8 posts (2024, subject to variation) of Assistant Archivist Grade-I, classified General Central Service, Non-Ministerial, Non-Gazetted, Group B, at Level-6 (Rs.35400-112400), filled by direct recruitment (with provision for deputation for vacancies of a year or more), requiring an age not exceeding 30 years (relaxable up to five years for government servants), a Master's Degree in History with a paper in Modern Indian History and a Diploma in Archives and Record Management, with a Certificate course in Microsoft Office as desirable, and two years' probation. The rules bar appointment of persons who have contracted bigamous marriages (subject to government exemption) and preserve existing reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and ex-servicemen. DA/26/2022-Administration/300.— In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India, read with Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs notification number F.27/59- Him(i) dated the 13th July, 1959 and in supersession of the notification of this Government, published vide notification No. F.1(39)/2011-Archives/1139 dated 19/09/2013 except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to make the following rules regulating the method of recruitment to the post of 'Assistant Archivist Grade-I' in the Department of Delhi Archives, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, namely:- 1. Short Title and Commencement. (1) These rules may called the Department of Delhi Archives, Assistant Archivist Grade-I Recruitment Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette. 2. Number of Posts, its classification and level in pay matrix. The number of the said post, its classification and level in pay matrix attached thereto shall be as specified in column (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed to these rules. 3. Method of recruitment, age limit, qualification etc. The method of recruitment, age limit, qualifications and other matters relating to the said post, shall be as specified in the columns (5) to (11) of the said Schedule. 4. Disqualifications. No persons, - (a) Who has entered into or contracted marriage with a person having a spouse living; or (b) Who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said post: Provided that the Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule. 5. Power to relax. Where the Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient to do so, it may, by order, for reasons to be recorded in writing, and in consultation with the Competent Authority, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons. 6. Saving. Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Ex-Servicemen and other special categories of persons in accordance with orders issued by Government of India from time to time, in this regard. Note : Vacancies caused by the incumbent being away on deputation or long illness or study leave or under other circumstances for a duration of one year or more may be filled on deputation basis from officers of Central Government/State Government/UTs holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre/ department and possessing the educational qualifications prescribed for direct recruits under Column 7. (The maximum age-limit for appointment by deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of the applications.) 11. In case of recruitment by promotion/deputation/ absorption grades from which promotion/ deputation/ absorption to be made. Not applicable. 12.
