Detailed Summary

The Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, being satisfied of its necessity, has issued a notification dated 12th February, 2026, from the Home (Police-II) Department. In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 3, read with clause (e) of Section 2 of the National Security Act, 1980, the Lt. Governor has directed that the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, may also exercise the powers of detaining authority under sub-section (2) of section 3 of the aforesaid Act. This authorization is effective for the period from 19th January, 2026, to 18th April, 2026. The order is issued by Nitin Panigrahi, Dy. Secy. (Home), by Order and in the Name of the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
