The rules cover Driver (Ordinary Grade) - two posts (subject to variation), General Central Service, Group 'C', Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial, Level-2 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 19900-63200) - and Driver (Grade-II) - two posts, Level-4 (Rs. 25500-81100); further Driver (Grade-I) provisions continue in the Schedule. For direct recruitment to Driver (Ordinary Grade), the age limit is 18-25 years (relaxable to 40 years for departmental candidates and up to 27 years for All India Open Competition), requiring a 10th standard pass, a valid Motor Car driving licence, knowledge of motor mechanism, and at least three years of driving experience, with three years as Home Guard/Civil Volunteer as a desirable qualification; Driver (Grade-II) posts are filled by deputation/absorption failing which by direct recruitment. No. 74(34)/RR/2022/PR.AO/AI/587.-In exercise of the powers conferred by proviso of article 309 of the Constitution of India, read with the Notification No. 27/59- Him (i) dated 13th July, 1959 of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, the Lt. Governor, National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to make the Recruitment Rules for the post of "Driver (Ordinary Grade), Driver (Grade-II) & Driver (Grade-I)" in the Principal Accounts Office, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, namely:- 1. Short title and commencement:- (i) These rules may be called "The Principal Accounts Office Driver (Ordinary Grade), Driver (Grade-II) & Driver (Grade-I)" Recruitment Rules, 2024. (ii) These rules shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette. 2. Number of posts, classification and Pay Level in the pay matrix:-The number of posts, its classification and Level in the Pay Matrix attached thereto, shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed to these rules. 3. Method of Recruitment, Age limit and other Qualifications, etc:-The method of recruitment to the said post, age limit and other qualifications and other matter relating thereto shall be as specified in the columns (5) to (13) of the said Schedule. 4. Disqualifications:- No person, (a) Who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or (b) Who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person; shall be eligible for appointment to the said post: Provided that the Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personnel law applicable to such persons and the other party to the marriage and there are other grounds for doing so, exempt any person from the operation of this rule. 5. Power to relax:- Where the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient to do so, it may, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect of any class or category of persons. 6. Saving:- Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Ex-servicemen and other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi from time to time in this regard.
