Detailed Summary

The Department of Law, Justice and Legislative Affairs of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi issued a notification on 14th October, 2025 (F. No. 6/1/2015/P.F.1/Judl./Suptlaw/1907-1915). Under the provisions of Section 20 of the Punjab Courts Act, 1918, as applicable in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the Lt. Governor of Delhi, upon the recommendation of the High Court of Delhi, appointed two officers from the Delhi Higher Judicial Service as Principal District Judges. Mr. Prem Kumar Barthwal was appointed as Principal District Judge on a regular basis with effect from 1st September, 2025. Mr. Dinesh Bhatt was appointed as Principal District Judge under the next below rule, effective from the date he assumes charge. The order was issued by MOHINDER VIRAT, Special Secretary, in the name of the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
