The change is a consequence of the rationalization of Mail Products by the Department of Posts of the Ministry of Communications, Government of India, which involves merging the "Registered Post" service into the "Speed Post" service to enhance operational efficiency, tracking capability, and customer convenience. The effective date for this change is the date of the merger of "Registered Post" into "Speed Post" as officially notified by the Department of Posts.
