The High Court of Delhi amends Rule 5 of Part A(b), Chapter I of Volume V of the Delhi High Court Rules & Orders, concerning requirements for bail applications.

Detailed Summary

The High Court of Delhi, through Notification No. 77/Rules/DHC. dated September 25, 2025, has exercised its powers under Section 7 of the Delhi High Court Act, 1966 (Act 26 of 1966), to amend Rule 5 of Part A(b), Chapter I of Volume V of the Delhi High Court Rules & Orders. The amendment substitutes the existing Rule 5, which governs Bail Applications, with new provisions. Additionally, the petitioner/applicant must mention any involvement in other criminal cases, providing particulars and decisions thereof. Applications lacking this essential information will be placed before the bench with the necessary details. This amendment is set to come into force from the date of its publication in the Gazette, which is October 6, 2025. The notification was issued by order of the Court and signed by Arun Bhardwaj, Registrar General.
