This notification, issued by the Indian Maritime University on November 14, 2025, under Notification No. IMU/HQ/ADM/Notification/2025/03, exercises powers conferred by Section 47(1) of the Indian Maritime University Act, 2008 (22 of 2008). It replaces paragraph 2 of the existing Ordinance 28 of 2018, originally approved by Executive Council Resolution EC-2018-47-08 dated October 23, 2018, and further amended by Executive Council Resolution EC-2025-85-20 dated July 21, 2025. The new "Guidelines for forwarding of Applications" stipulate that IMU will not provide No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) or forward applications for faculty/staff on deputation. Non-teaching employees may be considered for outside employment applications only after completing five (05) years of regular service, subject to a 10% ceiling of each category (Group A/B/C or equivalent) of non-teaching employees on sanctioned strength per calendar year. Faculty members are eligible after completing seven (07) years of regular service. All employees must obtain prior university permission for outside employment, with NOCs issued only upon production of a Hall Ticket/Interview Letter. A maximum of four (04) NOCs per employee is permitted in a calendar year, and these rules do not apply to posts advertised by UPSC and SPSC's.
