Detailed Summary

This notification from the Department of Atomic Energy, Mumbai, dated the 6th May, 2025 (No.:AEC-1(1)/2025/5833), revises the constitution of the Atomic Energy Commission previously notified vide No. 1(1)/2024/15029 dated October 21, 2024. The revision is consequent to three events: (i) the appointment of Shri Vumlunmang Vualnam, formerly Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, as Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, replacing Shri Manoj Govil, who was appointed as Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat, as per Appointments Committee of the Cabinet vide No. 36/01/2025-EO(SM-1) dated 18.04.2025; (ii) the assignment of additional charge of the post of Member Finance, Atomic Energy Commission, to Ms. Seema Jain, Member Finance (Space Commission), upon relinquishment by Shri Pankaj Kumar Mishra, by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet vide No. 36/01/2025-EO(SM-1) dated 25.04.2025, until a regular incumbent is appointed or until further orders; and (iii) the passing away of Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Member, Atomic Energy Commission. The revised constitution is listed, naming Chairman (Ex-officio) Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty (Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy), and Members including Shri Ajit Kumar Doval (National Security Advisor), Dr. Pramod Kumar Mishra (Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister), Dr. T.V. Somanathan (Cabinet Secretary), Shri Vikram Misri (Foreign Secretary), Shri Vumlunmang Vualnam (Secretary (Expenditure)), Ms. Seema Jain (Member Finance, Space Commission) as Member Finance, Dr. M.R. Srinivasan (Former Chairman, AEC), Prof. P. Rama Rao (Former Secretary, Dept. of Science & Technology), Dr. Anil Kakodkar (Chancellor, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi Science & Technology Commission and Former Chairman, AEC), Dr. Ravi B. Grover (Former Principal Adviser, DAE), and Shri Vivek Bhasin (Director, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) as Member (Ex-officio). The revised constitution is effective until further orders.
