G.S.R. 457(E) dated 16th July 2024, issued by the Supreme Court of India with the approval of the President under Article 145 of the Constitution, titled the Supreme Court (Amendment) Rules, 2024 and effective 1st August 2024, substitutes Order II, Rules 1 to 3 of the Supreme Court Rules, 2013 to provide that, subject to any order of the Chief Justice, the offices of the Court shall function from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.; that the offices shall remain closed on Gazetted holidays and on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month; and that during vacations and holidays the offices shall remain open for such times as the Chief Justice may direct; signed by Mahesh T. In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 145 of the Constitution, and all other enabling provisions in this behalf, the Supreme Court with the approval of the President, hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Supreme Court Rules, 2013 namely:- 1. (1) These rules may be called the Supreme Court (Amendment) Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the 1st August, 2024; 2. In the Supreme Court Rules, 2013 in order II, for rules 1, 2 and 3 the following rules shall be substituted namely:- 1. "Subject to any order by the Chief Justice, the working hours of the offices of the Court shall be from 10:00 A.M. to 05:00P.M. 2. The offices of the Court shall remain closed on Gazetted holidays and on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. 3.
