NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 29th April, 2024
S.O. 1856(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Coal number
S.O. 1398(E), dated the 23rd March, 2023 issued under sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Coal Bearing Areas
(Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 (20 of 1957), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), published in the
Gazette of India, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 23rd March,2023 and subsequent amendment
notification under section (1) of section 7 of Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 number
S.O. 2935( E ), dated 4th July, 2023, the Central Government gave notice of its intention to acquire 666.273 hectares
(approximately) 1646.361 acres (approximately) land and all rights in or over such land specified in the Schedule
appended to that notification;
And whereas the competent authority in pursuance of section 8 of the said Act, has made his report to the
Central Government;
And whereas the Central Government, after considering the aforesaid report and after consulting the
Government of Odisha, is satisfied that the land measuring 530.174 hectares (approximately) or 1310.06 acres
(approximately) and all rights in or over such land as described in Schedule appended hereto should be acquired;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 9 of the said Act, the
Central Government hereby declares that that the land measuring 530.174 hectares (approximately) or 1310.06 acres
(approximately) and all rights in or over such land as described in the Schedule are hereby acquired.
The plan bearing number PO/BBSRI/SURVEY/24/773, dated the 22nd January, 2024 of the area covered by
this notification may be inspected in the office of the Collector, District Angul, Odisha or in the office of the Coal
Controller, Coal Controller Organisation, 5th Floor, Core-2, Scope Minar, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi-110 092 or in the office
of the Director(Personnel), Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, Jagruti Vihar, Burla, District Sambalpur-768020, Odisha.
