L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-29072026-274930 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 3956] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, JULY 27, 2026/SHRAVAN 5, 1948 MINISTRY OF COAL NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 24th July, 2026 S.O. 4126(E).—Whereas, it appears to the Central Government that coal is likely to be obtained from the land in the locality described in the Schedule annexed hereto; And, whereas, the plan bearing number HQS&DN25212, dated the 3rd November, 2025 containing details of the area of land described in the said Schedule may be inspected at the office of the General Manager, NTPC Mining Limited, Chatti Bariatu South Coal Mining Project, at Sikri Site Office, Post- Barkagaon, Dist.- Hazaribagh 825311, Jharkhand or at the office of the General Manager (Exploration), Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited, Gondwana Place, Kanke Road, Ranchi 834008, Jharkhand or at the office of the Coal Controller, Coal Controller Organization, Ministry of Coal, Scope Minar, 5th floor, Core II, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi 110092 or at the office of the District Collector, Hazaribagh 825301, Jharkhand or office of Chief Executive Officer, NTPC Mining Limited, NTPC Bhawan, Core-7, Scope Complex, Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi 110003. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 (20 of 1957), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government hereby gives notice of its intention to prospect for coal in land described in the said Schedule; Any person interested in the land described in the said Schedule may- (i) claim compensation under section 6 of the said Act for any damage caused or likely to be caused by any action taken under sub-section (3) of section 4 thereof; or (ii) claim compensation under sub-section (1) of section 13 of the said Act in respect of prospecting license ceasing to have effect or under sub-section (4) of section 13 of the Act for mining lease ceasing to have effect and deliver all maps, charts and other documents relating to the aforesaid land to show the expenditure incurred in respect of items specified in clauses (i) to (iv) of sub-section (1) of section 13 of the said Act, to the office of the General Manager, NTPC Mining Limited, Chatti Bariatu South Coal Mining Project, at Chatti Bariatu South Coal Mining Project, at Sikri Site Office, Post- Barkagaon, Dist.- Hazaribagh 825311, Jharkhand, within a period of ninety days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
