NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 26th September , 2023
S.O. 4245 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub -section(1), clause (v) and clause (xiv) of sub -
section (2) and sub -section (3) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), read with sub -rule
(4) of rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, the Central G overnment hereby makes the following
amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate
change, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part -II, section 3, sub -section(ii), vide S.O. numb er 2172 (E),
dated the 27th August, 2014, namely : —
In the said notification, —
(i) in paragraph 2, in sub -paragraph (1), for the portion beginning with the words “The State Government
shall” and ending with the words “the Ministry of Environmen t, Forest a nd Climate change”, the
following shall be substituted, namely: -
“The State Government shall, within a period of two years with effect from 26.09.2023, in accordance
with this notification prepare a Zonal Master Plan for the purpose of the Eco -sensitive Zo ne”;
(ii) in paragraph 3, in sub -paragraph (10), the words “approved by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and
Climate Change”, shall be omitted.
