Extension of tenure of SEIAA and SEAC of Mizoram

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-29052026-272931 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2591] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 2026/JYAISTHA 6, 1948 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 27th May, 2026 S.O. 2684(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) and in pursuance of the proviso to sub- paragraph (6) of paragraph 3 and proviso to clause (c) of paragraph 5 of the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Environment and Forests, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), vide number S.O. 1533(E), dated the 14th September, 2006, the Central Government considering it necessary and expedient, hereby extends the term of the Chairman and Members of the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority, Mizoram and the term of the Chairman and Members of the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Mizoram for a period up to the 12th December, 2026 or till the re-constitution of the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority and the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, as the case may be, whichever is earlier, and for that purpose makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary Part II, Section 3, Sub-section(ii), vide number S.O. 2590 (E), dated the 13th June,2023 namely:- In the said notification, (a) in paragraph 2, for the words “three years”, the words “three years and six months" shall be substituted; (b) in paragraph 6, for the words “three years”, the words “three years and six months” shall be substituted.
