Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 (20 of 1957), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government hereby gives notice of its intention to prospect for coal from the land described in the said Schedule; Any person interested in the land described in the said schedule may – (i) claim compensation under section 6 of the said Act for any damage caused or likely to be caused by any action taken under sub-section (3) of section 4 thereof; or (ii) claim compensation under sub-section (1) of section 13 of the Act in respect of prospecting licenses ceasing to have effect or under sub-section (4) of section 13 of the Act for mining lease ceasing to have effect and deliver all maps, charts and other documents relating to the aforesaid land to show the expenditure incurred in respect of items specified in clauses (i) to (iv) of sub-section (1) of section 13 of the said Act, to the officer of the Chief General Manager or Coal Coordination, NLC India Limited, Registered office No-135, EVR Periyar High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai-600010, Tamil Nadu; Corporate Office at Block-1, Neyveli-607801, Cuddalore District, Tamilnadu within a period of ninety days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
