Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Civil Aviation issued a notification on 3rd April 2025 regarding the appointment of Shri Vipin Kumar, IAS (BH:96), as the Chairman of the Airports Authority of India. This appointment, effective from the afternoon of 28th October 2024, is made by the Central Government following the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet's Order No. 36/02/2024-EO(SM-I) dated 26th October 2024. Shri Kumar is appointed in Level 15 of the revised Pay Matrix. His term is set to continue until 11th June 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. According to the Department of Personnel & Training OM No. 26/04/2011- EO(SM-I) (Pt.II) dated 15th January 2015, this appointment is to be treated as equivalent to the post of Additional Secretary in the Government of India. Consequently, all entitlements for Shri Kumar will be the same as those for an Additional Secretary.

No. AV-24011/2/2021-AAI-MoCA.—In pursuance of Appointments Committee of the Cabinet's Order No. 36/02/2024-EO(SM-I) dated 26.10.2024, the Central Government hereby appoints Shri Vipin Kumar, IAS (BH:96) as Chairman, Airports Authority of India, with effect from afternoon of 28.10.2024 in the Level 15 of the Pay Matrix (revised) till 11.06.2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The officer's appointment shall be treated as an officer appointed to the post of Additional Secretary in the Government of India as per Department of Personnel & Training OM No. 26/04/2011- EO(SM-I) (Pt.II) dated 15.01.2015.
