Birbhum 731243, West Bengal is recognized by State Government of West Bengal and West Bengal Nursing Council to conduct GNM and B.Sc(N) Course. Whereas, a notice no. 18-32/15237-INC dated 27/02//2023 for withdrawal of Recognition under section 14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 addressed to Chief Secretary (Health &FW) Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, Swasthya Bhawan, 04th Floor, B Wing, GN – 29, Sector – V, Bidhan Nagar, Kolkata 700091, West Bengal was issued. Copy of the notice dated 27/02/2023 was also enclosed to Nalhati Institute of Nursing situated at Haripur Podhra, Nalhati, Birbhum, Distt. Birbhum 731243, West Bengal. In the notice issued, the State Government was requested to submit their recommendations to the Council as respects Suitability of the nursing institution. Whereas, the Council has not received any recommendation from the State Government as respects the case of Nalhati Institute of Nursing. Even the institution Nalhati Institute of Nursing has not responded to the notices issued. Whereas, the Council has considered the matter in its entirety. Perusal of the inspection report dated 21/09/2022 would show that the institution is deficient in many respects especially those relating to deficiencies i.e., clinical and teaching facilities. Now therefore, the Council exercising powers under section 14(3)(b) of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 declares that with effect from 29/11/2023 any person holding a recognized qualification of GNM and B.Sc(N) Nalhati Institute of Nursing situated at Haripur Podhra, Nalhati, Birbhum, Distt. Birbhum 731243, West Bengal shall be entitled to be registered only in the State of West Bengal subject to the orders of State government of West Bengal. Lt. Col (Dr.) Sarvjeet Kaur, Secy.
