The Indian Nursing Council (INC), via an order dated July 17, 2026, issued under Section 14 of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), has declared that with effect from September 11, 2025, any person holding a recognized qualification from Karuna School Of Nursing, Tanuku, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, shall be entitled to be registered only in the State of Andhra Pradesh. This decision, made under Section 14(3)(b) of the Act, follows a notice (no. 18-02/Govt./2024 - INC (65477) dated November 26, 2024) for withdrawal of recognition. The notice was sent to the Principal Secretary, Health Medical and Family Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and the Andhra Pradesh Nurses & Midwives Council, requesting recommendations on the suitability of nursing institutions. The Council reported receiving no remarks or recommendations from either the State Government or the Andhra Pradesh Nurses & Midwives Council. Furthermore, INC records indicated that these institutions failed to apply for statutory inspection for several years and were found deficient/unsuitable for conducting nursing programmes. F.No. 18-02/Govt./2024 - INC.- In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14 of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), the Indian Nursing Council hereby issues the following order: - Whereas, the following institutions located in the State of Andhra Pradesh were recognized by the State Government and the Andhra Pradesh Nurses & Midwives Council to conduct nursing courses. Whereas, a notice no. 18-02/Govt./2024 - INC (65477) dated 26.11.2024 for withdrawal of recognition under Section 14 of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947, was issued to the Principal Secretary, Health Medical and Family Welfare Deptt., Government of Andhra Pradesh, 5th Block, Ground Floor, Room No. 157, A.P. Secretariat, Velagapudi, Amaravathi 522503, Andhra Pradesh. A copy of the notice dated 26.11.2024 was also sent to the Andhra Pradesh Nurses & Midwives Council. In the notice issued, the State Government was requested to submit its recommendations to the Council regarding the suitability of the nursing institutions. Whereas, the Council has not received any remarks or recommendation from the State Government or the Andhra Pradesh Nurses & Midwives Council regarding the suitability of the below-mentioned institution. Whereas, the Council has considered the matter in its entirety. The Indian Nursing Council records show that these institutions have failed to apply for statutory inspection for several years and were found deficient/unsuitable for conducting nursing programme. Now therefore, the Council, exercising powers under Section 14(3)(b) of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947, hereby declares that with effect from 11.09.2025, any person holding a recognized qualification from the following institution shall be entitled to be registered only in the State of Andhra Pradesh. 1.
