Detailed Summary

By an order dated 25th April 2024 (F.No. 18-15/14306-INC), the Indian Nursing Council, in exercise of powers under Section 14 of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), withdrew recognition of the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course conducted by National School of Nursing, situated at Hunasanahalli Extension, Tekal Road, Bangarpet, District Kolar 563114, Karnataka, which had previously been recognised by the State Government of Karnataka and the Karnataka Nursing Council. A withdrawal notice dated 15/02/2023 had earlier been issued to the Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka, and to the institution, requesting the State Government's recommendation on the institution's suitability, but no recommendation was received and the institution did not respond. Based on an inspection report dated 22/09/2022 finding deficiencies in clinical and teaching facilities, the Council, exercising powers under section 14(3)(b), declared that with effect from 29/11/2023, any person holding a GNM qualification from the institution shall be entitled to be registered only in the State of Karnataka, subject to orders of the Karnataka State Government. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-26042024-253876 EXTRAORDINARY PART III-Section 4 PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 290] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, APRIL 26, 2024/VAISAKHA 6, 1946 INDIAN NURSING COUNCIL WITHDRAWAL ORDER New Delhi, the 25th April 2024 F.No. 18-15/14306-INC.—In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), the Indian Nursing Council hereby issues the following order:— Whereas, National School of Nursing situated at Hunasanahalli Extension Tekal Road Bangarpet, Bangarpet, Distt. Kolar 563114, Karnataka is recognized by State Government of Karnataka and Karnataka Nursing Council to conduct GNM course. Whereas, a notice no. 18-15/14306-INC dated 15/02/2023 for withdrawal of Recognition under section 14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 addressed to Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Room No. 105, 01st Floor, Vikas Souda, Bangalore – 560001, Karnataka was issued. Copy of the notice dated 15/02/2023 was also enclosed National School of Nursing situated at Hunasanahalli Extension Tekal Road Bangarpet, Bangarpet, Distt. Kolar 563114, Karnataka. In the notice issued, the State Government was requested to submit their recommendations to the Council as respects Suitability of the nursing institution. Whereas, the Council has not received any recommendation from the State Government as respects the case of National School of Nursing. Even the institution National School of Nursing has not responded to the notices issued. Whereas, the Council has considered the matter in its entirety. Perusal of the inspection report dated 22/09/2022 would show that the institution is deficient in many respects especially those relating to deficiencies i.e., clinical and teaching facilities. Now therefore, the Council exercising powers under section 14(3)(b) declares that with effect from 29/11/2023 any person holding a recognized qualification of GNM from National School of Nursing situated at Hunasanahalli Extension Tekal Road Bangarpet, Bangarpet, Distt.
