NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd December, 2025
S.O. 5967(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of section 14 of the Energy Conservation
Act, 2001 (52 of 2001), the Central Government, in consultation with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, hereby makes
the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Power, published in the
Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), vide number S.O. 185(E), dated the 12th January,
2009, namely: -
In the said notification, -
(A) for paragraph (1), the following paragraph shall be substituted, namely: -
"1. Every distribution transformer being manufactured, commercially purchased or sold in India shall
(a) meet the compliance requirements of the type test parameters, namely:-
(i) measurement of short circuit impedance and load loss as per IS 2026 (part 1):2011;
(ii) measurement of no-load loss and current as per IS 2026 (part 1):2011;
(b) carry Bureau of Indian Standards certification mark.”;
(B) in paragraph 2, in sub-paragraph (2), –
(a) in Table 2, for the figures "2025", the figures "2026" shall be substituted;
(b) in Table 3, for the figures "2025", the figures "2026" shall be substituted;
(c) after Table 3, the following Table shall be inserted, namely: -
'Table - 4 (Validity from 1st January, 2027 to 31st December, 2029)
