L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-25062026-273810 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 457] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, JUNE 22, 2026/ASHADHA 1, 1948 4615 GI/2026 (1) 2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(i)] MINISTRY OF COAL NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 22nd June, 2026 G.S.R. 508(E). — In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and clause (d) of sub-section (2) of section 13 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (67 of 1957), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Coal Blocks Allocation Rules, 2017, namely:- 1. (1) These rules may be called the Coal Blocks Allocation (Amendment) Rules, 2026. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Coal Blocks Allocation Rules, 2017, (i) in rule 8, — for the words "performance bank guarantee", wherever they occur, the words "performance bank guarantee or insurance surety bond" shall be substituted; (ii) after sub-rule (9), the following sub-rule shall be inserted, namely:- "(9A) Any successful allocatee who has provided a performance bank guarantee prior to the commencement of the Coal Blocks Allocation (Amendment) Rules, 2026, shall have the option to replace the 'performance bank guarantee' with an 'insurance surety bond'."
