Core Purpose

Indian Nursing Council withdraws recognition for GNM course at Vijay School of Nursing due to refusal of statutory inspection.

Detailed Summary

The Indian Nursing Council (INC) issues a withdrawal order for Vijay School of Nursing, Andhra Pradesh, effective from 26.10.2024. The school, previously recognized for the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course, denied statutory inspection by INC inspectors. Despite notices issued to the college and Andhra Pradesh Health Secretary seeking explanation for the refusal, no response was received. The INC Executive Committee determined the refusal indicates non-compliance with regulations and unsuitability for nursing training. Consequently, GNM qualifications from Vijay School will only qualify individuals for registration within Andhra Pradesh, subject to state government orders.
