INDIAN NURSING COUNCIL
WITHDRAWAL ORDER
New Delhi, the 10th March, 2025
F.No. 18-29/15242-INC: In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14 of Indian Nursing
Council Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), the Indian Nursing Council hereby issues the following order:—
Whereas, Sengunthar College of Nursing situated at Kumaramangalam Po, Tiruchengode, Distt.
Namakkal - 637205 Tamilnadu is recognized by State Government of Tamil Nadu and Tamil Nadu Nurses &
Midwives Council to conduct B.Sc(N) Course.
Whereas, a notice no. 18-29/15242-INC(57116) dated 03/05/2024 for withdrawal of Recognition under
section 14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 addressed to the Secretary (Health & FW), Department of Health and
Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, 4th Floor, Fort St. George, Secretariat, Chennai 600009, Tamil Nadu was
issued. Copy of the notice dated 03/05/2024 was also enclosed to, Sengunthar College of Nursing situated at
Kumaramangalam Po, Tiruchengode, Distt. Namakkal – 637205 Tamilnadu In the notice issued, the State
Government was requested to submit their recommendations to the Council as respects Suitability of the nursing
institution.
Whereas, the Council has not received any recommendation from the State Government as respects the case
of Sengunthar College of Nursing Even the institution Sengunthar College of Nursing has not responded to the
notices issued.
Whereas, the Council has considered the matter in its entirety. Perusal of the inspection report dated
27/09/2023 would show that the institution is deficient in many respects especially those relating to deficiencies i.e.,
clinical and teaching facilities. These are serious deficiencies which constitute that the institution is unable to run
B.Sc(N) Course
Now therefore, the Council exercising powers under section 14(3) (b) declares that with effect from
26/10/2024 any person holding a recognized qualification of B.Sc(N) Course from Sengunthar College of Nursing
situated at Kumaramangalam Po, Tiruchengode, Distt. Namakkal - 637205Tamilnadu shall be entitled to be
registered only in the State of Tamilnadu.
