The Ministry of Law and Justice, Legislative Department, publishes the Appropriation (No. 3) Act, 2023 (No. 40 of 2023), which received Presidential assent on 24th December 2023, authorising payment and appropriation from the Consolidated Fund of India of a total sum of Rs. 1,29,348,85,00,000 (one lakh twenty-nine thousand three hundred forty-eight crore and eighty-five lakh rupees) towards further defraying charges for the financial year 2023-24, as itemised by Voted and Charged revenue and capital amounts across numerous Ministries and Departments in the Schedule appended under sections 2 and 3 of the Act, including the Department of Fertilizers (Rs. 13,350.83 crore Revenue), Department of Telecommunications (Rs. 8,310.77 crore Capital), Department of Rural Development (Rs. 14,524.34 crore Revenue), Defence Services Revenue (Rs. 15,000 crore), Ministry of External Affairs, Department of Financial Services, and Department of Economic Affairs among others; the Act is signed by S.K.G. Rahate, Secretary to the Government of India.

THE APPROPRIA TION (No. 3) ACT , 2023 NO. 40 OF 2023 [24th December , 2023 .] An Act to authorise payment and appropriation of certain further sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India for the services of the financial year 2023-24. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Seventy-fourth Year of the Republic of India as follows:–– 1.This Act may be called the Appropriation (No. 3) Act, 2023. 2.From and out of the Consolidated Fund of India there may be paid and applied sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of the Schedule amounting in the aggregate to the sum of one lakh twenty-nine thousand three hundred forty-eight crore and eighty-five lakh rupees towards defraying the several charges which will come in course of payment during the financial year 2023-24 in respect of the services specified in column 2 of the Schedule. 3.The sums authorised to be paid and applied from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India by this Act shall be appropriated for the services and purposes expressed in the Schedule in relation to the said year .Short title.
