The Ministry of Power issued S.O. 5043(E) dated 21st November 2024, under sub-section (1) of section 162 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) read with the Qualifications, Powers and Functions of Chief Electrical Inspector and Electrical Inspectors Rules, 2006, notified on 17.8.2006 and amended on 16.05.2016. The Central Government appointed Shri Praphull Wagh, Chief General Manager/Electrical, as Chief Electrical Inspector for Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) from the date of the notification until his tenure at MMRCL ends or until further orders, subject to fulfilling the qualifications and conditions in the said Rules. He is to exercise powers over electrical works, installations, and rolling stock within MMRCL-controlled areas per the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electricity Supply) Regulations, 2010, but is barred from acting as Chief Electrical Inspector over installations for which he is himself responsible, and must undergo Government-mandated training to its satisfaction. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-23112024-258864 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 4654] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2024/AGRAHAYANA 1, 1946 MINISTRY OF POWER NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 21st November, 2024 S.O. 5043(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(1) of section 162 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) read with Qualifications, Powers and Functions of Chief Electrical Inspector and Electrical Inspectors Rules, 2006 (hereinafter called the said Rules) notified on 17.8.2006 and as amended on 16.05.2016, the Central Government hereby appoints Shri Praphull Wagh, Chief General Manager/Electrical as Chief Electrical Inspector for Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) from the date of this Notification till his tenure in MMRCL ends or until further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to fulfillment of the qualifications and conditions mentioned in the said Rules. The above mentioned officer shall exercise the powers and perform his functions in respect of electrical works, electrical installations and electrical rolling stock in operation within the areas occupied by MMRCL or in respect of works and electrical installations under the control of MMRCL/belonging to MMRCL as per the procedure provided in Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electricity Supply) Regulations, 2010, as amended from time to time. It shall be ensured that the above said officer shall not function as the Chief Electrical Inspector in respect of any electrical work or installation, the execution or maintenance of which is his responsibility. The officer appointed as Chief Electrical Inspector shall undergo such training as the Central Government may consider necessary for the purpose and such training shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Government.
