Rashmi Saluja from Vishva Hindi Parishad, New Delhi); 3 members nominated by the Department of Official Language; and various official members including Secretaries, Joint Secretaries from Ministry of Earth Sciences and Department of Official Language, and Directors/Heads of associated organizations like India Meteorological Department and National Center for Seismology, with the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, as Member Secretary. The Committee's tenure is ordinarily three years, with provisions for members ceasing to be MPs or working in their posts, and for tenure curtailment/extension by the Ministry. Its Headquarters are in New Delhi, and all meetings must be held there, as per Department of Official Language O.M. No. 14013/01/2019-OL (Policy) dated 02.11.2023. Non-official members are entitled to travelling and daily allowances as per Department of Official Language O.M. No. II/22034/04/86-OL(I-2) dated 22nd January, 1987. The Resolution is ordered to be communicated to various government bodies and published in the Gazette of India.

Functions of the Committee The functions of the Committee will be to render advice to the Ministry of Earth Sciences and all offices under its administrative control on matters relating to the provisions of the official languages enshrined in the Constitution and the directions/instructions issued by the Department of Official Language for the progressive use of Hindi in official work. 3. Tenure (i) The tenure of the Committee will ordinarily be three years from the date of its constitution, provided that: A Member of Parliament nominated to the Committee shall cease to be a member of the Committee as soon as he ceases to be a Member of Parliament; (ii) The Official Members of the Committee will remain members of the Committee till they work in their respective posts. Any Member appointed against mid-term vacancy shall be a member for the remaining tenure of the Committee. (iii) In special circumstances, the tenure of the committee may be curtailed/extended by the Ministry of Earth Sciences. 4. General The Headquarters of the Committee will be at New Delhi and as per Department of Official Language O.M. No. 14013/01/2019-OL (Policy) dated 02.11.2023, all the meetings of the Committee are required to be organized in New Delhi only. 5. Travelling and other allowances The non-official members of the Committee will be paid travelling and daily allowances for attending the meetings of the Committee as per the provisions contained in the Department of Official Language O.M. No. II/22034/04/86-OL(I-2) dated 22nd January, 1987 of the Department of Expenditure and in accordance with the rates and rules prescribed from time to time by the Government of India. ORDER Ordered that a copy of this Resolution be communicated to all members of the Committee, all State Governments and Union Territory Administrations, Prime Minister's Office, Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Lok Sabha Secretariat, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, President's Secretariat, Vice-President's Secretariat, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Niti Ayog, all Ministries and Departments of the Government of India.
