The Ministry had earlier granted prior approval under Section 68(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003 vide File No. 25-17/54/2024-PG dated 6th June 2024. The transmission line is a 230 kV line running from the company's generating pooling station in Village Senapathipalayam (Taluk Kangayam, District Tirupur, Tamil Nadu) to Karur PS (ISTS S/s), passing through villages in the Kangayam and Dharapuram taluks of Tirupur district. No objections were received during the public notice period following publication in newspapers dated 10th June 2024 and the Weekly Gazette of India dated 6th July 2024, as declared in the applicant's affidavit dated 7th September 2024. The approval is granted for 25 years and is subject to conditions including consent from local bodies, compliance with Electricity Act regulations, operation only after approval of the Electrical/Chief Electrical Inspector, and compliance with Supreme Court orders in Petition No. 838 of 2019 concerning the Great Indian Bustard if the route falls within GIB habitat. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-22102024-258136 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 4227] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2024/ASVINA 30, 1946 6852 GI/2024 MINISTRY OF POWER ORDER New Delhi, the 21st October, 2024 S.O. 4596(E). - Whereas M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, having its corporate office at Corporate Center B Block, 34 Sant Tukaram Road, Carnac Bunder, Mumbai-400009 has applied for authorization under Section 164 of the Electricity Act, 2003 for installation of the dedicated overhead transmission line included in the transmission system for providing connectivity to M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. for its 198 MW Wind Power Project in Karur, Tamilnadu. And whereas, Ministry of Power, Government of India vide its File No.25-17/54/2024-PG dated 06.06. 2024 had granted prior approval under section 68(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003 for installation of the dedicated overhead transmission line included in the transmission system for providing connectivity to M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. for its 198 MW Wind Power Project in Karur, Tamilnadu. M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited had published notice for transmission scheme in local newspapers Afternoon English Daily (in English) dated 10.06.2024, Dakshin Prakash (in Hindi) dated 10.06.2024, Dina Seithi (in Tamil) dated 10.06.2024, and in Weekly Gazette of India dated 06.07.2024 for the general public to make observations/representations on the proposed transmission route within two months from the date of publication. Subsequently, M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited has submitted an affidavit dated 07.09.2024 declaring that no observation/representation was received within two months from the date of Publication in the official Gazette of Government of India. And now the applicant has requested to confer upon him, all the powers under section 164 of the Electricity Act, 2003, which the telegraph authority possess under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 with respect to the placing of telegraph lines and posts for the purpose of a telegraph established or maintained by Government or to be so established or maintained for installation of the dedicated overhead transmission line included in the transmission system for providing connectivity to M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. for its 198 MW Wind Power Project in Karur, Tamilnadu. The approval is granted for 25 years. ii. The Applicant shall have to seek the consent of the concerned authorities i.e., local bodies, Railways, National Highways, State Highways etc. before erection of proposed line. iii. The Applicant shall have to follow regulations/codes of the Appropriate Commission regarding transmission, O&M, open access, etc., framed under the Electricity Act, 2003. iv. The Applicant shall operate the line after approval of Electrical Inspector / Chief Electrical Inspector of Central Government. v. The approval is subject to compliance of the requirement of the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 and the rules made there under by the applicant. vi. M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited shall have to submit the requisite clearances to Central Electricity Authority after obtaining the same from concerned authorities like Civil Aviation, Defense etc., at the time of Electrical Inspection. vii. In case, the route of above overhead lines (or some portion of the route of above overhead line) falls in the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) area, the applicant has to comply with the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the petition No.838 of 2019 regarding Great Indian Bustard (GIB) case, and the directions of the technical/expert committee constituted by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in this regard.
