Indian Nursing Council withdraws recognition of Kailash Nursing College's B.Sc(N) nursing program effective October 26, 2024, due to identified deficiencies.

Detailed Summary

The Indian Nursing Council issues a withdrawal order concerning the B.Sc(N) program at Kailash Nursing College, Tamil Nadu. This decision follows a prior notice issued on May 3, 2024, to the Tamil Nadu government and the college, regarding potential recognition withdrawal under Section 14 of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947, requesting recommendations from the State Government. No recommendations were received from the Tamil Nadu Government, and Kailash Nursing College did not respond to the notice. An inspection report dated September 4, 2023, indicated significant deficiencies in clinical and teaching facilities, deeming the college incapable of running the B.Sc(N) program adequately. Consequently, effective October 26, 2024, recognition is withdrawn. Graduates of the B.Sc(N) program from Kailash Nursing College post this date are eligible for registration only within Tamil Nadu.
