WITHDRAWAL ORDER
New Delhi, the 10th March, 2025
F. No. 18-24/4752-INC.—In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14 of Indian Nursing Council
Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), the Indian Nursing Council hereby issues the following order:—
Whereas, Surya School of Nursing situated at Po – Hatadihi, Anandapur, Distt. Kendujhar 758082 Odisha
is recognized by State Government of Odisha and Odisha Nurses & Midwives Council to conduct GNM Course.
Whereas, a notice no. 18-24/4752-INC (56958) dated 03/05/2024 for withdrawal of Recognition under section
14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 addressed to the principal secretary (Health & FW), Government of Orissa,
Secretariat Building, Bhubaneswar – 75100, Odisha was issued. Copy of the notice dated 03/05/2024 was also enclosed
to Surya School of Nursing situated at Po – Hatadihi, Anandapur, Distt. Kendujhar 758082 Odisha. In the notice
issued, the State Government was requested to submit their recommendations to the Council as respects Suitability of
the nursing institution.
Whereas, the Council has not received any recommendation from the State Government as respects the case of
Surya School of Nursing. Even the institution, Surya School of Nursing has not responded to the notices issued.
Whereas, the Council has considered the matter in its entirety. Perusal of the inspection report dated 05/10/2023
would show that the institution is deficient in many respects especially those relating to deficiencies i.e., clinical and
teaching facilities. These are serious deficiencies which constitute that the institution is unable to run GNM Course.
Now therefore, the Council exercising powers under section 14(3) (b) declares that with effect from 26/10/2024
any person holding a recognized qualification of GNM from Surya School of Nursing situated at Po – Hatadihi,
Anandapur, Distt. Kendujhar 758082 Odisha shall be entitled to be registered only in the State of Orissa.
