INDIAN NURSING COUNCIL
WITHDRAWAL ORDER
New Delhi, the 10th March, 2025
F.No. 18-05/13801 –INC— In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14 of Indian Nursing Council
Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), the Indian Nursing Council hereby issues the following order:—
Whereas, Lady Elgin Zenana Hospital situated at -School of Nursing, Distt. Gaya 823001 Bihar is
recognized by State Government of Bihar and Bihar Nurses Registration Council to conduct ANM Course.
Whereas, a notice no. 18-05/13801-INC (57218) dated 09/05/2024 for withdrawal of Recognition under
section 14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 addressed to the Principal Secretary (H&FW) Department of Health,
Government of Bihar, Vikas Bhawan, New Secretariat, Bihar was issued. Copy of the notice dated 09/05/2024 was
also enclosed Lady Elgin Zenana Hospital situated at -School of Nursing, Distt. Gaya 823001 Bihar In the notice
issued, the State Government was requested to submit their recommendations to the Council as respects Suitability of
the nursing institution.
Whereas, the Council has not received any recommendation from the State Government as respects the case of
Lady Elgin Zenana Hospital. Even the institution Lady Elgin Zenana Hospital has not responded to the notices
issued.
Whereas, the Council has considered the matter in its entirety. Perusal of the inspection report dated
07/12/2023 would show that the institution is deficient in many respects especially those relating to deficiencies i.e.,
clinical and teaching facilities. These are serious deficiencies which constitute that the institution is unable to run
ANM Course.
Now therefore, the Council exercising powers under section 14(3) (b) declares that with effect from
26/10/2024 any person holding a recognized qualification of ANM from Lady Elgin Zenana Hospital situated at -
School of Nursing, Distt. Gaya 823001 Bihar shall be entitled to be registered only in the State of Bihar.
