L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-21082026-275665 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 687] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2026/SHRAVAN 30, 1948 MINISTRY OF MINORITY AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 18th August, 2026 G.S.R. 753(E). — In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 12 of the Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency and Development Act, 1995 (43 of 1995), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Waqf Council Rules, 1998, namely:- 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Central Waqf Council (Amendment) Rules, 2026. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Central Waqf Council Rules, 1998, in rule 7, for sub-rule(1), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:- "(1) There shall be a Secretary to the Council".
