The Appropriation Act, 2026 (No. 2 of 2026), published by the Ministry of Law and Justice (Legislative Department) in New Delhi on March 21, 2026, received the President's assent on the same date. The Act's primary purpose is to authorize the payment and appropriation of additional sums from the Consolidated Fund of India for the financial year 2025-26. Specifically, Section 2 permits the payment and application of sums not exceeding an aggregate of Rs. 2,81,289,26,00,000 (two lakh eighty-one thousand two hundred eighty-nine crore and twenty-six lakh rupees only) from the Consolidated Fund. and is hereby published for general informatrion:—

THE APPROPRIATION ACT, 2026
No. 2 OF 2026
                                                                  [21st March, 2026.]

An Act to authorise payment and appropriation of certain further sums from and out of the
Consolidated Fund of India for the services of the financial year 2025-26.

BE it enacted by Parliament in the Seventy-seventh Year of the Republic of
India as follows:—
1. This Act may be called the Appropriation Act, 2026.                     Short title.

2. From and out of the Consolidated Fund of India there may be paid and    Issue of Rs.
applied sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of the Schedule amounting  281289,26,00,000
in the aggregate to the sum of two lakh eighty-one thousand two hundred  out of the
eighty-nine crore and twenty-six lakh rupees only towards defraying the several Consolidated
charges which will come in course of payment during the financial year 2025-26 in Fund of India for
respect of the services specified in column 2 of the Schedule.           the financial
                                                                         year 2025-26.

Appropriation.
3. The sums authorised to be paid and applied from and out of the
Consolidated Fund of India by this Act shall be appropriated for the services and
purposes expressed in the Schedule in relation to the said year.
