Core Purpose

The Indian Nursing Council issues a Withdrawal Order declaring that qualifications from two specific nursing institutions in Gujarat will only be recognized for registration within the State of Gujarat, effective from September 11, 2025.

Detailed Summary

The Indian Nursing Council, exercising powers conferred under Section 14 of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), and specifically Section 14(3)(b), issued a Withdrawal Order on July 17, 2026. This order declares that, with effect from September 11, 2025, any person holding a recognized qualification from the specified institutions shall only be entitled to be registered in the State of Gujarat. The affected institutions are Sadbhav Institute Of Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) located in Sabarkantha, Gujarat, and Shri Shreyas Nursing Institute (ANM) in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This decision follows a notice no. 18-11/Govt./2024 - INC (65262) dated November 26, 2024, for withdrawal of recognition, which was issued to The Commissioner (Health) & Ex-Officio Secretary (Public Health & Family Welfare), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and the Gujarat Nurses & Midwives Council. The Council noted that it had not received any recommendations from the State Government or the Gujarat Nurses & Midwives Council regarding the suitability of these institutions, and its records indicated that these institutions failed to apply for statutory inspection for several years and were found deficient/unsuitable for conducting nursing programmes.
