By Notification G.S.R. 248(E) dated 16th April 2024, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, citing the authorisation conveyed vide O.M. F. No. 10(11)/2023-EG-II dated 1st March 2024 issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, notifies under rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020 read with sub-clause (ii) of clause (b) of sub-section (4) of section 4 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016), that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, through its System Integrator of the e-Governance of Civil Aviation platform, will perform Aadhaar authentication (using the Yes/No authentication facility) of applicants for registration and applications for the Unique Identification Number and Type Certificate under the Drone Rules, on a voluntary basis, to verify user identity. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-19042024-253776 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 234] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2024/CHAITRA 30, 1946 2626 GI/2024 MINISTRY OF CIVIL AVIATION NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 16th April, 2024 G.S.R. 248(E). — Whereas, the use of Aadhaar as identity document simplifies the Government delivery processes, brings in transparency and efficiency, and enables applicants to get their work done directly in a convenient seamless manner, and Aadhaar obviates the need for producing multiple documents to prove one's identity; And whereas, the Central Government for the Ministry of Civil Aviation, conveyed authorisation vide O.M. eF. No. 10(11)/2023-EG-II dated 1st March, 2024 issued by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, to notify under rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020 read with sub-clause (ii) of clause (b) of sub-section (4) of section 4 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016), for performance of Aadhaar authentication, on a voluntary basis, for verifying the identity of users, using Yes/No authentication facility, during registration and applications for the Unique Identification Number and Type Certificate under the Drone Rules; Now, therefore, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, for the purpose of usage of digital platforms to ensure good governance, hereby notifies that Directorate General of Civil Aviation through its System Integrator of e-Governance of Civil Aviation platform will perform Aadhaar authentication of applicants for registration to obtain the various services under the Drone Rules, 2021 on the e-Governance of Civil Aviation Platform, on a voluntary basis, for verifying the identity of users.
