The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change issued a Notification (F. No. 17(20)/2021-PL/NGT) on 17th November, 2025, announcing the Central Government's appointment of Dr. Sujit Kumar Bajpayee as an Expert Member of the National Green Tribunal. This appointment is made in exercise of powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (3) of section 6 of the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 (19 of 2010), read with clause (ii) of Section 5 of the Tribunal Reforms Act, 2021 (33 of 2021). Dr. Bajpayee's tenure will be for a period of four years from the date of assumption of charge or until he attains the age of sixty-seven years, whichever event occurs earlier.
