ORDER
New Delhi, the 16th August , 2023
S.O. 36 79(E).—Whereas M/s ReNew Surya Ojas Private Limited, the applicant with its registered office at
138, Ansal Chambers -II, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi -110066, has applied for authorization under Section 164 of
the Electricity Act, 2003 for laying of electric line under “Transmission scheme for providing connectivity to ReNew
Surya Ojas Private Limited for its 300 MW Hybrid generation project (Wind:300 MW, Solar:75 MW &
Storage:150 MWh) in Koppal, Karnataka”.
And whereas, CEA, Ministry of Power, Government of India vide its letter no. I/19919/2022 dated
19.01.2022 had granted prior approval under section 68( 1) of the Electricity Act, 2003 to M/s ReNew Surya Ojas
Private Limited for the overhead lines covered under “Transmission scheme for providing connectivity to ReNew
Surya Ojas Private Limited for its 300 MW Hybrid generation project in Koppal, Karnataka” .
M/s ReNew Surya Ojas Private Limited had published notice for transmission scheme in local newspapers
dated 27.05.2022 (Rajasthan Patrika, The Times of India, Praja Vani, and Samyukta Karnataka) and in Weekly
Gazette of India dated 09.07.2022 to 15.07.20 22 for the general public to make observations/representations on the
proposed transmission route within 60 days from the date of publication. Subsequently, M/s ReNew Surya Ojas
Private Limited has submitted an affidavit dated 21.06.2023 declaring that no objection has been received from public
within 60 days of publication of Public Notice in newspapers / Gazette of India.
And now the applicant has requested to confer upon him, all the powers under section 164 of the Electricity
Act, 2003, which the telegr aph authority possess under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 with respect to the placing of
telegraph lines and posts for the purpose of a telegraph established or maintained by Government or to be so
established or maintained for laying of electric lines un der “Transmission scheme for providing connectivity to
ReNew Surya Ojas Private Limited for its 300 MW Hybrid generation project in Koppal, Karnataka”. The following
overhead lines are covered under this transmission scheme:
“ReNew Surya Ojas Private Limit ed generation switchyard (Thondihala village, Koppal District, Karnataka) - Koppal
PS 220 kV S/C line on D/C towers.”
The above overhead lines included under the scheme will pass through, over, around and between the following
villages, towns and cities:

Now, after careful consideration, Ministry of Power, Government of India, under section 164 of the Electricity
Act, 2003, confers all the powers to M/s ReNew Surya Ojas Private Limited for laying above overhead lines, which
telegraph authority possesses u nder the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 with respect to placing of telegraph lines and
posts for the purposes of a telegraph established or maintained, by Government or to be established or maintained
subject to following terms and conditions for installing th e above mentioned lines, namely:
i. The approval is granted for 25 years;
ii. The Applicant shall have to seek the consent of the concerned authorities i.e. local bodies, Railways,
National Highways, State Highways etc. before erection of proposed lines;
iii. The Appl icant shall have to follow regulations/codes of the Appropriate Commission regarding transmission,
O&M, open access, etc., framed under the Electricity Act, 2003.
iv. The Applicant shall operate the lines after approval of Electrical Inspector / Chief Electric al Inspector of
Central Government.
v. The approval is subject to compliance of the requirement of the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 and
the rules made there under by the applicant.
vi. M/s ReNew Surya Ojas Private Limited shall have to submit the requi site clearances to Central Electricity
Authority after obtaining the same from concerned authorities like Civil Aviation, Defence etc., at the time
of Electrical Inspection.
vii. In case, the route of above overhead lines (or some portion of the route of above overhead line) falls in the
Great Indian Bustard (GIB) potential area (or priority area) marked in the map which is part of the order of
the Hon’ble Supreme Court order dated 19.04.2021, in the petition No.838 of 2019 regarding GIB case, the
applicant has to comply with the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, with regard to undergrounding of
the above overhead transmission line and/or fixing of bird diverters, as the case may be as per the Hon’ble
Supreme Court Order dated 19.04.2021 and the directions of the technical committee constituted by the
Hon’ble Supreme Court in this regard.
