NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 17th January, 2024
S.O. 190(E). In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986
(29 of 1986) and in pursuance of the proviso to sub- paragraph (6) of paragraph 3 and sub- paragraph (c) of paragraph
5 of the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Environment and Forests, published in the
Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), vide, number S.O 1533(E), dated the 14th
September, 2006, the Central Government being considered necessary and expedient, hereby extends the term of the
Chairman and Members of the State Level Environmental Impact Assessment Authority, Punjab and Chairman and
Members of State Level Expert Appraisal Committee for a period of six months with effect from the 3rd February,
2024 or till the re- constitution of the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority and the State Level
Expert Appraisal Committee, as the case may be, whichever is earlier, and for that purpose makes amendment in the
notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment Forests and Climate Change number
S.O. 524 ( E ), dated the 4th February, 2021 namely: -
a. in paragraph 2, for the words "three years", the words "three years and six months" shall be substituted;
b. in paragraph 6, for the words “three years", the words "three years and six months" shall be substituted.
